Dr James White, Director of the National Gallery of Ireland completed in 1985 the biography, Pauline Bewick: Painting a Life (Wolfhound Press) which inspired the exhibition of 1500 pieces representing her art work from two to fifty.

Taking up three floors of the Guinness Hop Store, Dublin, the exhibition attracted record-breaking attendance, and. later travelled to the Ulster Museum, Belfast, the Crawford Art Gallery, Cork and the Municipal Gallery, Limerick.
